- IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE TO PLAY?
There is NO FEE to pay to perform for our Best DAMN Battle of the Bands Series
You can but no more than 1 cover song. We are seeking the best local unsigned ORIGINAL bands. Performing more than one will not disqualify you, but is generally frowned upon.
- IS THIS OPEN TO ALL AGES?
For the most part -YES, but it really depends on the venue. If the venue is known as an All-Ages Club then it will be an All-Ages show; an 18+ club, then it will be an 18+ show and so on.
- HOW IS THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS JUDGED?
It's pretty straight-forward, the band that gets the loudest amount of audience response AT THE END OF THE EVENT will be announced the 1st round Winner and be advanced to the Finals. We will have 5 to 6 1st round winners plus 2 bands that will be 'voted-in' at our website.
How Voted-In Finalists are determined:
After our ALL of our 1st round shows have been decided, we will place a list of 6 bands that didn't make it over to the Finals but REALLY impressed us in the 1st round. Then we will have one week of on-line voting. At the end of that week (precisely 7 days) we will announce the top 2 vote-getters, and they will be advanced into the Finals.
- WHAT ARE THE PRIZES FOR WINNING THE 1ST ROUND?
Bands that advance to the Finals will receive a prize of $100 cash
- WHAT IS THE PRIZE PACKAGE FOR WINNING THE FINALS?
The band that wins our Finals (judged the same as the 1st round) will receive $500 cash, up to $300 or 25 hours of studio time (whichever comes 1st), a show where they will open up for a National Act, Submission to SEVERAL Record Labels, Sponsorship consideration, and an out-of-town show with bands of a similar genre, and more!
Each band will have 30 minutes for their performance time. If the band arrives late, takes too long to to set up for their set, the time will be deducted from the performance time.
- WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING TO THE GIG?
The venue will provide the Mics and PA system. Bands are required to bring everything else they need. If you're not sure what to bring, BRING IT! It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!
Load in time is roughly 90 minutes prior to Door time. Meaning if a show's door time is 7:00pm, load in time for ALL bands performing is 5:30pm.
